Dash’s Blog: WHS Spring Office Update 2020

Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while but I’m back with my first 2020 office update!

There has been a lot going on at WHS since the last time Pickles and I published one of these blog, so I thought I’d take the time to update you on a few of the major changes that 2020 has brought us here at the White Horse Surveyors central offices.

Office move & new starters

Over the last month, much of the WHS team has been adjusting to their new surroundings following our recent office move. Relocating from Unit 3 to Unit 1 has meant that the entire Operations, Panel, Marketing and Finance teams have been getting used to their new workstations here at Prince Rupert House. It’s been a refreshing change of pace for our team and one that has coincided with the introduction of several new members of the WHS family.

More specifically, we have had several temporary and permanent starters join us in the last couple of weeks alone! Many of these have been brought in to help our staff in dealing with a recent influx of leads following the recent political stability.

Business awards

If you have been keeping an eye on our social media pages recently, you will have seen that the WHS team has had some great success at several local business awards! Back in January, we were presented with an award from Action Coach for ‘Business Efficiency and Processes’, as well as being a finalist in the ‘Best Place to Work’ category for the Chippenham BID Business Awards.

Not to mention the fact that our Marketing team have recently completed an application for ‘Best Service Based Business’ for the Business Excellence Awards 2020 – so watch this space!

If you would like more information on any of these events, check out our recap blogs here.

New products

The last six months have also seen a major expansion in the range of products we are offering. In addition to our standard services, the team has also introduced several contemporary methods of property inspection. This includes:

Home Condition Reports – A general overview of the property, identifying any potential defect or issues by making use of condition ratings. Read more here.

Remote Valuations – No physical inspection required, the fastest way to obtain an independent value for your home. Read more here.

SmartrSurvey – White Horse Surveyors have partnered with Legal & General to provide their customers with the Legal & General SmartrSurvey – an alternative survey solution. Click here for more information.

Surveyor conference

Last but certainly not least, is our annual surveyor conference – which took place last month. Unfortunately, myself and Pickles were not allowed to attend this event! But we are told that it was a great opportunity for our surveyors to interact with their peers, as well as experience several informative presentations on a variety of topics. Apparently, this year saw talks on the following topics:

  • Practical Cyber Security – How to Stay Safe
  • New Products & Services: A Guide to SmartrSurvey
  • Off Mains Drainage & Changes to Regulations
  • Loft Conversions & Building Regulations
  • Common Defects in New Builds
  • New RICS Home Survey Standard
  • MEES, EPCs, Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
  • Asbestos Awareness Refresher

Until next time!

Well, that about does it from me! As I mentioned earlier, it’s been an extremely busy couple of months here at White Horse Surveyors so I must get back to annoying the team…

Hope everyone is looking forward to Spring and some better weather, I’ll be back in a couple of months with my next update.

See you then!
