These pre-employment examinations are undertaken with any candidate that is being seriously considered for the role and includes examinations into:
- Anti-money laundering records
- Credit history
- Employment history
- Proof of driving license and insurance – where applicable
- Disclosure and Barring Service records
Induction and Mentoring Schemes
Throughout the initial induction week, our surveyors are introduced to their full range of responsibilities and resources through a comprehensive induction and training programme.
Upon joining, you will be introduced to various members of our office team. Primarily meeting with key contacts and mentors from the technical team, including our CEO, Head of Surveyor Management, HR team and Senior Technical Support Manager. As a new starter, you will also meet with various members of the sales, booking, business development, customer care, panel and marketing departments through a tour of our Head Office in Chippenham. During which, you will also be introduced to many of our standard systems and processes.
Once this is complete, new surveyors will spend some time on-site with one of our training managers. Here, they will observe both a mortgage valuation survey and homebuyers report. Going through any standard forms and reports, as well as how to input and log this information, using the iPads. By the end of the first week, we aim to have your first jobs completed and signed-off on.
If successful, any prospective surveyors will go onto to complete a number of online training courses. Including an Asbestos Awareness session as well as a post-training questionnaire.
As a company, we have worked hard to ensure that all systems and processes are fully accommodating to the needs and requirements of graduate surveyors. Although much of our staff will have already gained their RICS membership we understand the importance of a comprehensive, informative and structured training initiative.
All graduates will have the experience of shadowing an existing surveyor, observing both a Homebuyers and Building survey, as well as receiving frequent one-to-ones with members of our surveyor management team. These processes are designed to enhance graduates existing qualifications as well as provide relevant and practical training. By applying this approach for any graduate, irrespective of their location in the country, we can ensure that all the necessary guidance and support is available.
These graduates will also benefit from the on-going support of our technical department. Following the induction, this in-house support network is always on hand to make sure that any reservation or uncertainty is promptly dealt with. Unlike other firms, we understand that every property is different, and are committed to supporting your knowledge and development through this dedicated team.
